This week we have been going to the community everyday! The team taught the moms and kids today. The lesson was from Luke 6:46-49, the wise and foolish builders. The foolish builder built his house on the sand, and the rains came and wiped out his house. The wise builder build his house on the rock, and when the rains came it stood firm. We need to live our lives that way! We need Jesus to be our ROCK and FOUNDATION that sustains us through everything!!
The team brought a bench kit for the kids to finally have somewhere to sit in their classroom! All the kids that were there today signed the uderside of the bench which was a really cool idea! They LOVED writing their names on the benches...they kept pointing at their names for me to take a picture of it! By the way, pictures will be posted on Facebook TONIGHT even if I am up til midnight! Speaking of pictures, the kids got a hold of our cameras today (normally we don't give our cameras out because the kids love to take pictures and see themselves, but we made exceptions today!), and they were so funny taking pictures of themselves and wanting their pictures made with us! They are so stinkin' cute!!
One of the little girls in the community started playing a clapping/hand game with mom, and soon other groups joined in trying to play the game with others. After a few minutes, most of the kids were playing this clapping/hand game with each other! Tonight, mom and I were talking about it, and she mentioned how cool it was to watch this game spread from one group to another, to another, and finally have almost everyone playing the same game! She related it to the Gospel! Wouldn't it be awesome if we shared God and His Word with one person, and then that person shared with a group, and then that group shared, and so on and so forth?! That's the way we should be about sharing God...we should let it spread!! We need our foundation to be solid, so that we can share God and His Word with everyone!!
Be in prayer for God's Word and Salvation through Christ to spread like wildfire! Pray the Holy Spirit is awakened in each of us, and that we are filled with boldness to share the Gospel with so many others! Pray we get out of our comfort zones to share the Good News of Jesus and forgiveness! Stay encouraged, and continue to pray for each other!
Blessings and Love!
Ashley
