Part of Stacie's ministry, Empowering Haitian Moms, is to send the kids in her ministry to school. This past year she had 10 kids sponsored, and this year we want even more kids to be sponsored!! Education is so important in any country, but it is especially important in Haiti. We want these kids to be able to get a great education, so they can have good paying jobs that will provide for their future!
The school that the kids attend is a Creole speaking Christian school. The cost for the school year is $300. The $300 covers tuition, exams, books for the year, and one uniform. For an extra $50, you can provide your child with an extra uniform and black shoes. The school requires black shoes because it matches their uniforms. If you would like to sponsor a child, and he or she is over the age of 10, then he or she has the opportunity to attend an English class 2 days a week. There is no fee for the class, but we are asking that you would contribute $20 a month for transportation fees for the child. The English class is not mandatory, but it would help these children greatly to be able to speak English!
